VPN settings configuration

BotVPN on Android with OpenVPN protocol
  • Install OpenVPN Connect
  • Save BotVPN.ovpn file (link sent by bot)
  • Open OpenVPN app and import BotVPN file from OpenVPN
  • During import select "Save password" and use your login
  • Tap "Connect" and its done!
! Switch ON "Seamless tunnel" option in OpenVPN app setting to make sure all your traffic always go via VPN connection and VPN is automaticaly re-connect when needed.
BotVPN on Android with L2TP
  • Got to Android "Settings" > "VPN" (use search)
  • Tap "Add VPN" and use the following parameters in pop-up/next screen:
    • Name: BotVPN
    • Type: L2TP/IPSec PSK
    • Server address: world.botvpn.com
    • IPSec shared key: (pre-shared key)

! Leave other fields blank
  • Tap "Save" and then "BotVPN"
    • Username: (username)
    • Password: (password)
  • Save credentaial and tap "Connect"
Done!
BotVPN on iOS using OpenVPN
  • Install BotVPN.mobileconfig provided to you by bot
  • Download BotVPN.mobileconfig from one-time link in message. It will start installing automatically.
  • If not, do the following:
    • Click "Show in Finder"
    • Double-click on the file once Finder opens
    • Click "Install" - > "Install"
    • Type your password if requested
    • CONNECT to BotVPN
    • Go to the settings (Left upper corner Apple icon -> Systems preferences -> Network)
    • In networks window choose BotVPN World connection and select "Show VPN Status in menu bar" checkbox.
  • Click on Connect button to connect
Done! Now you can select "Connect BotVPN" from upper right corner of the screen, clicking on VPN icon (looks a bit similar to battery icon)
BotVPN on iOS using L2TP
  • Tap on the file I just sent to you (BotVPN.mobileconfig)
  • Once file is open, tap on icon in top-right corner
  • Choose "Save to Files" option and save it
  • Open "Files" app and tap on saved file - you will see message "Profile downloaded"
  • Go to iPhone settings and tap on "Profile downloaded" field
  • Tap "Install" in the right-top corner
  • Enter your iPhone passcode (if asked), then "Done" - "Next" - "Install" - "Done"
  • Go to iPhone Settings, tap on "VPN" and switch it on taping on status switch
Done
Setup BotVPN connection on Windows 10
  • Press the "Windows" button and type - VPN settings, choose VPN settings in a search result
  • Press "Add a VPN connection" and use the following parameters in a pop-up window
VPN provider: Windows (built-in)
Connection Name: BotVPN (or any other name you like)
Server Name or address: world.botvpn.net
VPN type: Secure Socket Tunneling (SSTP)
Type of sign-in info: User name and password
User name: (user name)
Password: (password)
  • Leave "Remember my sign-in info" box selected if you want to keep your user name and password saved or remove if you want to enter it every time you want to connect.
  • Press the "Save" button. Press connect on the newly entered VPN connection.
Done!
Setup BotVPN connection on Windows 7
  • Open "Network and Sharing Center"
  • Click on "Set up a new connection or network"
  • Select "Connect to a workplace" and click on "Next"
  • Click on "Use my Internet connection (VPN)"
  • Select a server in the members area and add:
Internet Address: world.botvpn.net
Destination name: BotVPN(or any other name you like)
Check "Don't connect now..." and then click on "Next"
Enter your login credentials
User name: (user name)
Password: (password)
  • Check "Remember this password" and then click on "Create"
  • Open the Network and Sharing Center and click on "Change adapter settings"
  • Click with right on the "BotVPN" network adapter and then click on "Properties"
  • Switch to the tab "Security", select Type of VPN "Secure Socket Tunneling Protocol (SSTP)"
Type of VPN: SSTP
Data Encryption: Maximum strength encryption (disconnect if server declines)
Allow these protocols: Microsoft CHAP Version 2 (MS-CHAP v2)
  • Then click on "OK"
  • Click on the network icon in the taskbar, select the VPN connection and click on "Connect".
  • If a connection has been successfully established, it displays "Connected"

BotVPN L2TP on MacOS
  • Install BotVPN.mobileconfig provided to you by bot
  • Download BotVPN.mobileconfig from one-time link in message. It will start installing automatically.

CONFIGURE - Linux
To connect to BotVPN from Linux you can use OpenVPN, L2TP or Softether client with the following settings:

Server Name: world.botvpn.net
Username: (username)
Password: (password)
L2TP PRE-SHARED KEY: (pre-shared key)
